This is my first blog post! I try to keep adding new ones with interesting topics, mostly revolving around electron microscopy, data processing, or other topics that might come to my mind.

I will also use it to display and explain my shared scripts and tools on Github. I try to contribute useful tools for other researchers. 😊

For this first post, I will add one of my favorite (filtered) HAADF-STEM images of a GdBa2Cu3O7 (GdBCO) thin film acquired on a non-probe-corrected TEM.

Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) within a scanning electron microscope (SEM) is a valuable technique to analyze the crystal structure on the surface. An electron backscatter pattern (EBSP) forms from the coherently scattered backscatter electrons and is acquired with a suitable detector at each electron-beam position, resulting in a 4-dimensional dataset: The scan positions (\(x\), \(y\)) and coordinates in the diffraction pattern (\(k_x\), \(k_y\)).

YouTube has many useful videos on electron microscopy which often helped me to understand various topics or alignment steps at the microscopes.
To keep track of all the different videos and channels about electron microscopy, I created a YouTube channel dedicated to finding these videos and sorting them into playlists. Just have a look! 😄
